New Record of Ganoderma colossum White Rot on Ficus bengalensis

چکیده
Ganoderma colossum is a rare species of Ganodermataceae family with many biological and biochemical properties. It is associated with rot, wilt, dieback, and wood decay of many host plants such as Ficus carcica, Celtis laevigata, Pinus hondurensis, Callitris robusta, Eucalyptus citrodora, E. paniculata, E. puncata, and Phoenix canariensis. In Oman, this pathogen was isolated as new records from Delonix regia, Ficus altissima, Phoenix dactylifera (2005-206), Sclerocarya birrea (2013), and Ziziphus spina-christi (2014). In the present investigation, the fungus was detected as a white rot on the base and the upper parts of the trunk, and on the exposed root of Ficus bengalensis. Based on the morphological characteristics and microscopy of the specimens, the pathogen was identified and confirmed with the deposited herbarium materials and the available data. This is thought to be the first record of G. colossum white rot on F. bengalensis worldwide.

Four new lanostane triterpenes, colossolactone V (1), colossolactone VI (2), colossolactone VII (3), and colossolactone VIII (4), were isolated from the fruiting bodies of the Vietnamese mushroom Ganoderma colossum, together with the known compound colossolactone E (5). The structures of 1- 4 were assigned on the basis of spectroscopic evidence, and their absolute configurations were determined...
متن کاملInfluence of Carbon Source on Cellulase Activity of White-rot and Brown-rot Fungi
Three white-rot fungi, Polyporus versicolor, Ganoderma applanatum, and Peniopbora “G,” produce an adaptive cellulase complex that can degrade both soluble cellulose (Cx) and microcrystalline cellulose (C1), a highly ordered form of cellulose. Production of Cx and C1 by the white-rot fungi was repressed by simple sugars. Cellualase preparations from three brown-rot fungi, Poria monticola, Lentin...

متن کاملDynamics of Ligninolytic Enzyme Production in Ganoderma Applanatum Depending on Cultivation Type
Ganoderma applanatum belongs to the group of white-rot fungi, due to a well-developed ligninolytic enzyme system. White-rot fungi have attracted great scientific attention in recent years, especially with respect to their enzymatic potential for the bioremediation of persistent pollutants. Contrary to G. lucidum, which medicinal properties, as well as ligninolytic enzyme system have been extens...
